What are the differences between each model?

The PMV Original is not an all-in-one testing device. It is critically important to test the density of your samples in addition to testing the resistivity. The PMV Original only tests the resistivity of the sample. A sample can only be considered genuine if both the resistivity and density are correct. The PMV PRO & INVESTOR series test both density and resistivity, but when testing with the PMV Original, the user must test density separately on their own.

Every PMV comes equipped with all 3 wand attachments, a carrying case, and charger.

What metals will it test?

Silver, Gold, Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Copper, and alloys. 

Warranty?

Every PMV comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.

Does it work on jewelry?

No. Sigma PMVs are designed for precious metal coins and bars and are not intended for jewelry of any kind.

Can it read through cased samples?

Yes! PMVs can read through plastic and cardboard cases so there’s no need to remove your samples from their assays, flips, capsules, cases, or slabs.
